Lessons

Piano Teaching

Virginia has been teaching piano to children and adults, of all levels, for over 14 years.  Piano lessons are one to one and focus on the right piano technique, music reading & interpretation and most importantly the enjoyment of music.

Piano lessons can be taken for leisure, school assistance or examination goals with a range of programs from modern to classical repertoire.

“Teaching music brings much joy in helping students develop to being able to play and produce music that they can share with their family and friends”.

Theory

Musical theory (musicianship) is a fundamental part of learning any musical instrument.  The ability to read and interpret  music provides great foundations in music understanding and appreciation for all instruments. Theory/Musicianship lessons can be taken as part of a piano lesson or as individual lessons.

Benefits of Learning Theory

  • Improvements to both music writing and listening skills
  • A better understanding in musical theory  can improve piano (or any instrument) performance
  • Provides great benefits to students studying music in primary or high school
  • Lessons can complement school curriculum and/or progress through musicianship/theory exam levels
